Emil Shakov, M.D., FACS

Emil Shakov, M.D., FACS is a board certified general surgeon in Central New Jersey in practice since 2010. He is fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive Surgery (laparoscopic surgery).

Dr. Shakov received his Medical Degree from the American University of the Caribbean, where he also received a Master’s of Science degree. His surgical internship was at Monmouth Medical Center and Dr. Shakov completed his residency and chief year at Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Science. Following his graduation, Dr. Shakov obtained a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Robotic Surgery, and Bariatrics at The Valley Hospital.

Dr. Shakov specializes in all forms of general surgery, including hernia repair, gallbladder removal, appendectomy, and colon surgeries. Dr. Shakov believes that every patient is special and treats all patients with the kindness and dignity that they deserve.

His philosophy includes giving patients the opportunity to make educated decisions regarding elective surgery and giving the patients the best outcomes during emergency operations.

Dr. Emil Shakov is currently on staff at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, Community Medical Center in Toms River, and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood NJ.
